889 at HIMSS

The Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) held their largest conference yet in Orlando, Florida from February 19-23, 2017. HIMSS is a non-profit organization that is supported by 640 corporations, 64,000 individuals, and 450 non-profit organizations. 889 Global Solutions attended for our first time this year taking part in 5 days of sessions and 1,200 exhibitors at the Orange County Convention Center.

As the healthcare industry continues to grow, so does 889’s presence in the medical field. Our CEO Judy Huang attended the trade show in February to hear what some of the leading executives in the industry had to offer. One of the biggest ideas presented at the show was that the medical field is going ergonomic.  This trend was first introduced by Bill Clinton but found minimal traction due to high expenses and lack of scientific support at the time. Now we are starting to see innovation take a role in some game-changing health technologies.

Speaking of innovation, investor Kevin O’Leary (best known as one of the “sharks” on the ABC reality show Shark Tank) was a keynote speaker at HIMSS. With over 40 companies in his private portfolio and teaching classes at Notre Dame and MIT, his opinion comes highly respected. Shark Tank has multiple products supporting the ergonomic trend in healthcare including BetterBack and Supportiback.

We are proud to say that as ergonomics begins to takes hold in the medical industry, 889 Global Solutions is at the forefront of the trend. For over a decade, we have been providing components and assemblies for medical furniture and medical carts. We have ranked as the top-qualified vendor to our clients for customer service, on-time delivery, and quality. We have provided casters, extruded frames and structures, drawer slides, trims, and handles across the U.S. and Canada.
