Judy Supports the Career Connections Initiative with a Video Profile
889 CEO Judy Huang is one of 18 Ohioans profiled in Career Connections, the State of Ohio’s vehicle for increasing Ohio students’ awareness of career opportunities and real-world jobs possible for them.
Career Connections currently has video profiles of 18 women and men working in a wide array of careers in international business, STEM, information technology, and health and wellness for use in Ohio classrooms. Profiles are posted on OhioMeansJobs K-12, the state’s online career development tool.
A team from WOSU Public Media Educational Services in Columbus spent a day interviewing and filming Judy at 889’s corporate headquarters in Columbus. Judy’s video profile provides an excellent way for students to learn about 889 Global Solutions, the work required to grow it, and the skills necessary to run a successful international business.
Career Connections is a joint initiative among the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, the Board of Regents and the Ohio Department of Education. The goal is to give K-12 students opportunities to become more aware of career opportunities; learn of their interests, talents and abilities; explore careers; and make academic and career plans for their future.
The program fosters connections between what students learn in the classroom and workplace expectations like critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, leadership, innovation and creativity. It offers practical ways for teachers and families to show students the types of jobs possible for them.
